Look into the chaotic and frankly alarming mind of a 19 year old writer.
Just don't look too closely.

I am a 17 year old student at Sixth Form. For those who don't know what this is, just imagine going to school for an extra two years after you leave. Like college, but not. Simple!
I live in Derby, UK.
I want to be a writer, so tell me what you think by E-mailing me.

Don't Look Too Closely

Damn. I just wrote a wonderful introduction to this, my first weblog. Then what happens? In a masterstroke of genius, I decide to see what one of the buttons on the toolbar does. Oh look! It opens a new page. So naturally I go back, and my work is all gone. Darn it.

Oh well. As I just said, this is my first piece of work published for all you wonderful people to read. I am a 17 year old student and go by the name Simark. Not in real life, you understand. I think a touch of mystery adds a touch of interest though, don’t you? I want to be a writer for a career. My hope with this site is that people with read my stuff and think it’s fantastic. By the way, if you do, please tell me. Better still, tell your national publications! Mind you, bearing in mind that I live in England and only speak English, you might not want to bother if you are in China (remember - other foreign countries are available).

E-mail me!. I look forward to hearing from you!

So where shall I start? I know – me! Just today, I finally completed my Computing coursework. This is something that has taken control of my life ever since late last year. In a strange way I feel sort of empty now. Previously the nearest I’d come to having a baby was an extremely painful experience in a bathroom after not drinking anything for a week. But now I feel like a part of my life has gone, and I have nothing left. Sure, that’s an exaggeration. To be honest I couldn’t really care less, but that doesn’t make for good writing.

Are you a student who has to wade through masses of coursework? Have you got a deadline looming, with huge amounts left to do? Well what are you doing here wasting your time reading this rubbish?! GET ON WITH THE COURSEWORK!!! But don’t forget to come back when you’re done…

I don’t know if you, the dear reader, have ever read War and Peace, but something tells me that it isn't top of most people’s lists for an evening of light reading. Which is why my new regular feature, called ‘I’m Reading War and Peace’, will be of great interest to so many of you. On a regular basis (ie whenever I can be bothered to read it and write about it on the same day) I will keep you up to date with my exciting journey through the book.

TODAY’S UPDATE: Unfortunately I haven’t read any today or even in the last fortnight. Come again soon for more exciting news!

Tomorrow, I look forward to writing doing two essays in practice for the same exam in English. That should be fun.

Before I go though, I feel I must mention the England match. In case you aren’t in the know, the England football (yes football, it’s not called soccer for crying out loud) team are playing their Turkish equivalents in Sunderland. Considering they (England) couldn’t even play well against Liechtenstein, I have my fears about tonight’s encounter. I would just like to point out that the England hooligans aren’t supported by England on the whole. In fact, this would be one case in which friendly fire would serve them right! Some sad people seem to think that supporting England warrants starting huge fights and attacking opposition supporters – a stance which seems even more ridiculous when you consider the quality of the team’s performance on pitch.

Sorry for that serious ending. I hope it needn’t happen much again.

See you tomorrow!

Don’t forget – tell your friends!
About me, that is. Not the England match or War and Peace.

SIMARK
